Serra District 10 Mission
The mission of Serra USA is to promote and foster Catholic vocations to the priesthood and religious life, support existing priests and religious, and help members grow in personal holiness. As an apostolate of the Catholic Church, Serra members work to be "friends to priests" and encourage more men and women to consider these ministries. Through our initiatives, including the opportunity to meet our seminarians and access valuable vocation resources, Serra District 10 aims to inspire a new generation of faithful leaders.

We work closely with our bishops, diocesan vocation offices, pastors, parish communities, and Serra clubs to encourage and accompany those discerning God's call. Through prayer, fellowship, and service, we support discerners, seminarians, priests, and religious as they respond generously to the Lord's invitation.

After Candice became president of the Serra Club of North Houston, she tripled the size of the club. She received an award from the Serra Governor for Outstanding Achievement in promoting Vocations in 2016. At the Serra Intl. Convention 2018 she was presented with an award for the largest Serra Club in the world and the same year was hon
After Candice became president of the Serra Club of North Houston, she tripled the size of the club. She received an award from the Serra Governor for Outstanding Achievement in promoting Vocations in 2016. At the Serra Intl. Convention 2018 she was presented with an award for the largest Serra Club in the world and the same year was honored with the “Fishers of Men Award” at the Guadalupe Radio Network gala for promoting Vocations. Candice initiated a Serra pilgrimage to EWTN, where Serran Susan Stawaisz, three seminarians from St. Mary’s Houston and her were on the “At Home with Jim & Joy” TV show. In May 2019, Candice was installed as Serra Governor of the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston and Beaumont by Cardinal DiNardo. Her goal is to work tirelessly for more priests and sisters, promoting the Called by Name, Altar Server Recognition, and Travelling Crucifix programs and more Adoration at parishes. She was honored with The Face of Serra Award at the Serra Rally 2020. Candice serves on the Advisory Board of St. Mary’s Seminary. She is also on the board of St. Thomas University in Houston. Candice and her husband, Ed, love to go on pilgrimages.

When she is not traveling, she enjoys spending time with her family including her daughter, Ashley, and her son-in-law, Ken, and their two precious sons, Thomas and Wells.
Welcome to Serra District 10
We are in the midst of a critical time in the Church, and the need for priests is urgent. At Serra District 10, we are a community of prayerful Catholics dedicated to increasing awareness of the need for vocations. Our mission is to support and promote Vocation Resources that help guide discerners in their journey.
We collaborate closely with the clergy in our parishes, the diocesan Vocation office, and community members to pray for discerners, seminarians, clergy, and religious. We are here to encourage and support in any way we are called to.
